Allegro-HANS

Allegro-HANS is software for indexing manuscripts, autographs , bequests and special collections.

Historical

Allegro-HANS was founded in 1989/90 in connection with theoretical considerations of a working group set up by the German Research Foundation (DFG) “Use of data processing in the development of personal papers and autographs” on the basis of Allegro-C with funding from the DFG at the state and Hamburg University Library configured. A Windows version has been available since 2002 (HANS 2000).

Possible uses

With allegro-HANS, inheritance materials such as life documents, correspondence, manuscripts and collections can be differentiated according to the “Rules for the indexing of bequests and autographs” (RNA) and made searchable via a WWW- OPAC . In addition, allegro-HANS offers, among other things, types of sentences for the listing of archival documents, book manuscripts, music manuscripts, graphic material, sound carriers, etc. Repertories can be printed out. Data export and import via MAB2 and XML are possible, e . B. Load data from the personal name file (PND) and the joint corporate body file (GKD) as well as data exchange with the Kalliope portal .

Source of supply

Allegro-HANS can be obtained as open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) from the Hamburg State and University Library (an Allegro-C license is required for installation). For maintenance and further development by a software service provider, German and Austrian users (mainly libraries) joined forces in 2001 to form the HANS user community. Support is provided via the HANS discussion list.
