Radio station
A radio station , FuSt for short , refers to one or more transmitters or receivers or a group of transmitters and receivers (including additional devices) that are required to perform a radio service at a given location. Each radio station is assigned to the radio service in which it participates permanently or temporarily. A radio system is an electrical or electronic product that, as intended, emits or receives radio waves for the purpose of radio communication or radio location (Section 3 (1) of the Radio Equipment Act ). This also includes accessories such as an antenna .
Categorization
A general categorization of radio stations can take place according to characteristic operational features; Examples of this are main radio station, sub radio station, transmitting radio station, receiving radio station, etc. An internationally binding categorization of the various radio stations is carried out by the ITU , which has been largely adopted by the national authority for the regulation of radio usage (in Germany the Federal Network Agency / frequency management ).
