The Olsztyn Lake District (Polish Pojezierze Olsztyńskie ) is a mesoregion and lake landscape in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeships in Poland .
location
The Allenstein Lake District is part of the Masurian Lake District , the westernmost area of which it represents. It lies around the eponymous city of Olsztyn on both sides of the Łyna River and extends in the west to the Pasłęka .
geology
The Allenstein Lake District consists of a large number of lakes in a moraine landscape. Characteristic of this landscape are glacial channels between the hills, created by the erosive effect of the meltwater when the glaciers melted , which later took up the lakes. The moraines of the lake district are up to 200 meters above sea level.

Rivers
The Olsztyn Lake District drains to the north over the Łyna into the Pregel and to the northwest over the Pasłęka into the Fresh Lagoon .

The Olsztyn Lake District is the westernmost and most densely populated part of the Masurian Lake District with the city of Olsztyn in its center.
