The Sensburger Lake District (Polish Pojezierze Mrągowskie ) is a mesoregion and lake landscape in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in Poland .
location
The Sensburger Lake District is part of the Masurian Lake District . The Równina Mazurska joins in the south, the Great Masurian Lakes in the east, the Nizina Sępopolska in the north and the Allenstein Lake District in the west . The lake district is located in north-eastern Poland.
geology
The Sensburger Lake District consists of a multitude of lakes in a moraine landscape. Characteristic of this landscape are glacial channels between the hills, created by the erosive effect of the meltwater when the glaciers melted , which later took up the lakes.

- Jezioro Lampackie

- Dłużec
- Jezioro Białe
Many lakes are connected by the Krutynia River , creating a network of waterways over 100 km long, which is particularly popular with kayakers.
Rivers
The Sensburger Lake District drains west over the Krutynia into the Great Masurian Lakes and from there over the Pisa into the Narew and Vistula and to the north over the Pregel .
Moraines
The Sensburger Lake District is higher up than the surrounding lake districts. The highest moraines are up to 221 meters above sea level.
colonization
The Sensburger Lake District is sparsely populated. Most of the small towns, such as the eponymous Mrągowo , Szczytno and Reszel , are located on the banks of the lakes.
