The Catholic Church of All Saints (Polish Kościół Wszystkich Świętych ) in Warsaw is a Catholic parish church on Plac Grzybowski .

history

The church was built between 1861 and 1883 by Enrico Marconi in the neo-renaissance style. The church was damaged by the air force bombing at the beginning of World War II. During the Second World War, the church was initially on the territory of the Warsaw ghetto . It was spun off from the ghetto by the SS after the Great Action in Warsaw , badly damaged by the SS in the suppression of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in 1943 and again destroyed in the course of the Warsaw Uprising . During the Warsaw Ghetto, the church was used by Catholics of Jewish descent. Among other things, Ludwik Hirszfeld found shelter in the church. After the war, the church received the House of Life award . The church was reconstructed after the Second World War. When Pope John Paul II celebrated Mass in the church in 1987, Mother Teresa was also present.
