Alley-oop (basketball)

The alley-oop (Germanized also Alley-Hoop ) is a basketball -Bewegungsablauf where Player A Player B tosses the ball and it intercepts the ball during the jump in the air in basket close and still in the jump phase by Lay raises or dunkt . If player B scores a hit, player A is awarded an assist . The "Alley-oop" is one of the most spectacular moves in basketball. In rare cases, player A's pass to himself also occurs as an “alley-oop”.

Origin of the word: allez hop (French: los , spring ). This reputation spread internationally through the circus before or during the jumps of acrobats or trained animals.

  • The left player (# 20) requests an alley oop by raising his right index finger.

  • The right player (# 1) passes the ball.

  • and ends the turn with a dunk.
