Alliance license
The aim of the alliance licenses funded by the German Research Foundation is to give all users in Germany access to scientific literature. For this purpose, (electronic) journals, databases and e-books are continuously acquired and then made available to users across Germany, u. a. in public universities, research institutions and state and state libraries. Allianz licenses, like the DFG-funded national licenses and FID licenses, contribute to the supraregional supply of literature.
Differences between alliance and national licenses
From 2011 sponsored Alliance licenses are the continuation of the 2004 to 2010 funded national licenses . In contrast to the national licenses financed entirely by the DFG, Allianz licenses have a license and financing model based on a consortium structure. The participating libraries have to pay approx. 75% of the total costs.
Participating institutions
The following institutions are entitled to participate in the Allianz licenses:
- Publicly and privately funded universities and research institutions in Germany
