The Allison Dome is a prominent and isolated ice dome in East Antarctica, Mac Robertson Land . It rises 58 km east of the southern end of the Mawson Escarpment .

The object was photographed in 1960 during the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . An Australian surveying team set up a fuel dump not far from the cathedral in 1972. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named it after Ian Frederick Allison, a glaciologist at Mawson Station in 1969 and involved in surveying the Prince Charles Mountains from 1972 to 1974 .
