The Allison Islands ( English Allison Islands ) are a small chain of islands off the coast of the East Antarctic Wilkesland . They are located on the north side of the entrance to Sparkes Bay in the archipelago of the Windmill Islands .
They were first mapped using aerial photographs taken during Operation Highjump (1946–1947) and Operation Windmill (1947–1948). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it after the US ionospheric researcher William L. Allison, who worked at Wilkes Station in 1958 .
