Alloeotomus gothicus is a species of bug from the family of soft bugs (Miridae).

features

The bugs become 5.0 to 6.0 millimeters long. They are characteristically translucent orange-brown in color. The top of the body is provided with long, upright hair and the membranes of the hemielytras are darkly colored and mottled with dark spots.

Occurrence and habitat

The species is widespread in almost all of Europe, but occurs in the Mediterranean area only in the north. In the east the distribution extends to the Ukraine and Asia Minor. It is widespread in Germany, but more common in the west than in the east.

Way of life

The bugs resemble Alloeotomus germanicus in their way of life and also live mainly on pine trees ( Pinus ). They occur from May to October, but mostly from June to September.
