Allure (magazine)

Allure is an American women's magazine founded in 1991 by editor-in-chief Linda Wells. It appears monthly in the Condé Nast Publications group . It is known, among other things, for the annual “Best of Beauty Awards”, an award that is given each year in the October issue for the best beauty products .

Linda Wells, who was still working as a beauty editor at The New York Times Magazine at the time, was approached by SI Newhouse junior about developing a concept for a women's magazine. The original template was discarded shortly before the planned publication and completely obsolete.

Allure is focused on looks, fashion and health for women. Allure was the first magazine to report on the health risks of silicone breast implants , among other things .

The "Best of Beauty Awards" are published every year in October. There are 2 categories, the favorite products of the editors and those of the readers. The “winner” seal is often printed on the packaging of the winning products.
