Almuth Degener
Almuth Degener (* 1958 ) is a German Indologist .
Life
In 1982 she obtained her master's degree in Indology and Iranian Studies from the Georg-August University in Göttingen and her doctorate in 1987 in Iranian Studies, Indology and Tibetology from the University of Hamburg . After completing her habilitation in 1995 (Indology) at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz , she has been an associate professor there (Department of Indology) since 2010 .
Her main research interests are Dardic and Nuristani languages, Khotan, Central Asian Buddhism and Urdu.
