Almuth von Below-Neufeldt (born June 15, 1954 in Hamburg ) is a German politician ( FDP ) and former member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

education and profession

Below-Neufeldt studied clothing engineering (FH) and graduated in 1978 with her diploma thesis “Factors influencing the productivity of an industrial seamstress”. She then worked as an operations assistant with a focus on work preparation and work organization in the clothing industry until 1981 . From 1981 she worked in the Lower Saxony trade inspectorate in Braunschweig, from where she first moved to the Office for Occupational Safety and Health in Hamburg in 1987 and then to the Hamburg environmental authority in the same year. In 1991 she moved to the Braunschweig district government and went through a promotion process through five offices in Lüneburg and Hanover. In 1998 she was seconded to the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Environment for one year . From 2002 to 2009 she was the head of the authorities at the State Trade Inspectorate in Göttingen.

politics

Below-Neufeldt has been a member of the FDP since 2005. She ran in the state elections in 2008 and 2013 for the FDP Lower Saxony in the Braunschweig-Nord constituency and on the state list . At first she did not succeed in entering the state parliament; on June 18, 2009, however, she replaced the resigned Gesine Meißner in the state parliament. In 2013 she entered the state parliament at the beginning of the electoral term. There she was science, research and cultural policy spokeswoman for the FDP parliamentary group. In the state elections in 2017 , she no longer stood as a candidate and therefore left the state parliament.
