Alois Burgstaller (politician)

Alois Burgstaller (born March 25, 1874 in Weilbach , Upper Austria ; † September 17, 1942 ibid) was an Austrian farmer , innkeeper and Christian social politician .

Life

After attending primary school and the milling school in Zurich, Burgstaller worked as a miller in Germany, Hungary and Vienna and took over his father's inn in 1900 after the death of his father. He was district chairman of the farmers' union and between 1923 and 1931 third deputy federal chairman. From 1924 to 1928 he was mayor of Weilbach, and in the Austrian National Council he represented the Christian Social Party from 1920 to 1934.
