Alois Krischke

Alois Krischke (born March 16, 1936 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian non-fiction author , communications engineer and radio amateur . He is the author of publications on antennas , antenna innovations and antenna patents as well as the author of Rothammels Antennenbuch , a standard work in antenna literature. In 2009 he was inducted into the "CQ Hall of Fame" by the US amateur radio magazine "CQ".

Life

Career

Krischke, who was born in Klagenfurt, Austria, already specialized in antennas while studying communications engineering in Vienna. The graduate engineer later worked for Rohde & Schwarz in Munich , where he worked for many years in antenna development. Alois Krischke has been retired since 1996.

As a non-fiction author, he devoted himself to publications on antennas, antenna innovations and antenna patents, where he has an extensive private collection, which includes the first patents from Edison , Marconi and Braun to the patents of the modern era. He is co-author of the antenna encyclopedia published in 1988 by the “Verlag für Technik und Handwerk” from Baden-Baden and, since the death of Karl Rothammel, he has been the author of “Rothammels Antennenbuch”, a standard work in antenna literature, since the 10th edition.

In 2009 Alois Krischke was inducted into the “CQ Hall of Fame” by the US amateur radio magazine “CQ” for his services.

In 2010 Alois Krischke received the "Golden Badge of Honor of the German Amateur Radio Club (DARC)" in recognition of his services to amateur radio in Germany.

Amateur radio

Krischke, who was already active as a shortwave listener as a high school student, has been active under the Austrian amateur radio call sign OE8AK since 1956 and under the German amateur radio call sign DJ0TR since 1968. Here he achieved success in fox hunting activities and achieved championship titles in Austria , Germany and Bavaria . For five years Krischke was a member of the "Radio Interference Suppression Working Group" in the Bayern-Süd district of the German Amateur Radio Club . He is also the bearer of the DARC badges of honor.
