Alois Rothmaier
Alois Rothmaier (born November 9, 1896 - † September 8, 1962 ) was a German local politician.
Career
Rothmaier came from Wurzach and came to Ellwangen as a council clerk in 1930 . After the end of the Second World War , he was appointed mayor of the city for a few months by the military government. He then worked as an administrative actuary for eight years. In this role he implemented the Ries water supply, which supplied 22 communities with water. He was also chairman of the Obere Jagst water association.
He was elected mayor of Ellwangen on October 25, 1953 and took office on February 16, 1954. During his tenure, the city became a military base in July 1956 . The Peutinger grammar school was rebuilt and the Jesuit college was converted into a justice center. He also founded the Ellwanger Heimattage in 1956.
He was killed in a traffic accident on September 8, 1962.
