Alp Weissenstein
The Alp Weissenstein ( Romansh in the idiom turkey Alp Crap Alv is) a nightmare on the west side of the Albula Pass in the canton of Grisons . It is located east of the Palpuogna lake in the municipality of Bergün Filisur, just under three kilometers below the top of the pass. The alp serves as a research station for the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences at ETH Zurich .
The actual alp with its agricultural and research buildings is at 2026 m. ü. M., the own land and the leased land extend from 1900 to 2600 m. ü. The high-alpine dairy cow and sheep farming as well as the montane vegetation are researched.
