The Alstervergnügen was an important folk festival in Hamburg that has been held every year on four days since 1976 in the inner city around the Inner Alster and attracted up to 600,000 visitors annually.

The Alstervergnügen was once created with the participation of cabaret artist Eberhard Möbius to revitalize Hamburg's inner city. In addition to catering and sales stands, several stages were set up, on which mostly local artists performed. Numerous loudspeaker bridges provided music, which is interconnected at times (e.g. during the fireworks ).

A particular highlight since 1994 has been the international fireworks festival on the Inner Alster, held over three evenings, initiated and moderated by Carlheinz Hollmann until his death .

In 2018, the event was canceled, especially for financial reasons. The previous organizer then withdrew.
