The house Alt Ottersleben 20 is a listed building in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It is located on the south side of the Alt Ottersleben street, opposite the confluence with Schmiedestraße, in the Magdeburg district of Ottersleben . The house is shown as a single monument, but also belongs to the Alt Ottersleben 20–22, 46, 47 monument area .

Architecture and history

The two-storey, eaves-facing house was built around 1870/1880 and represents a large farm house from the Wilhelminian era . The six-axis facade of the plastered building is richly structured and decorated with stucco ornaments in the style of late classicism . The two central axes emerge as a flat mean risk . The risalit is crowned by a triangular gable. The facade is rusticated on the ground floor.

To the west of the house is an inscription stone on the property wall with the inscription:

Commemoration of September 1st, 1810
When war a. Death u. Fire rob us of good and Blood;
So be dear to God! He gives us strength and Courage.
As in the hope of Schimer Happiness blossoms for us,
So fly from Asch u. Ruins The new building up.

Under this inscription, executed in black, there are also the names written in gold:

The house is considered to be an architectural and social historical document for the transfer of representative urban forms of living to the rural architecture of the Wilhelminian era. As an important part of the monument area, it is considered to be significant in terms of urban development.
