Alt St. Martin is a Roman Catholic church in Muffendorf , a Bonn district in the Bad Godesberg district . It is a listed building as a monument .

The Muffendorfer St. Martin's Church was probably originally a royal church , it was first mentioned in 913. The “Siegburger Hof” belonging to Michaelsberg Abbey was in the immediate vicinity . A stone of the goddess Diana found in the altar in 1910 suggests an older Roman sanctuary on the site of today's church.

The core of today's Romanesque village church is a towerless hall building with a flat ceiling from around 1100 with a choir square. When the chancel was extended around 1200, a ribbed vault was added, an apse and the west tower with a pyramid roof were added. In the north, a side aisle with a small apse and a rounded entrance portal was added to the building. In the 17th century a sacristy was added in the corner between the choir and the north aisle. During a restoration in 1910/11, baroque alterations were reversed.

Alt St. Martin lost its function as a Roman Catholic parish church when Neu St. Martin, a larger neo-Gothic hall church, was consecrated in Muffendorf in 1895. The old church is most impressive from the surrounding cemetery.
