The mill is a branch of the Eslohe Machine and Local History Museum . Due to the well-preserved mill technology, demonstrations of a grinding process can take place. In a small room, handicraft tools are shown that the miller needed to practice his profession.

Originally the mill was operated with the water from the Esselbach . During road construction work, the Esselbach was lowered so that its water could no longer be used for the mill. The mill can be operated for one hour with the water of a small tributary of the Esselbach in a small mill pond to the south.

Today the mill can also be used with an electric drive. A bakery was built next to the mill , in which bread is baked in a stone oven from 1903.
