Stertschultenhof
Old Mill
Parish Church of St. Nicholas

There was a church in Cobbenrode as early as 1300. A document dated April 1, 1366 confirms that Gottfried von Cobbenrode moved from the church in Cobbenrode to the parish church in Wormbach .

Early clues about the size of the place can be found in an appraisal register (used to collect taxes) for the year 1543. According to this, there were 4 subject to appraisal in “Kobbenröde” (Johann Klocke, Johann Rhait, Henrich Meister and Cracht Bornemann); the number should have agreed with the farms or houses that existed at the time.

There was a manor "castrum cobbenradensis" in Cobbenrode, which originally belonged to the knightly family of Cobbenrode. After their extinction, the von Esleben were enfeoffed with the castle. However, the fiefdom was withdrawn from them by the owner Count von Hatzfeld because of mismanagement and in 1657 it was transferred to Johann Friedrich von Bischopinck zu Niedermarpe, later Baron zu Cobbenrode from the Münster hereditary family. The manor was allodified by the von Bischopink family to Cobbenrode, that is, converted into real property and passed to the Habbel family by marriage to Chevalier. The lock no longer exists. Only the mill mentioned below has survived.

The municipality of Cobbenrode was independent until the municipal reorganization in North Rhine-Westphalia within the scope of the Eslohe office . Cobbenrode has been part of the new Eslohe community since January 1st, 1975.
