history

Early clues about the size of the place can be found in an appraisal register (used to collect taxes) for the year 1543. According to this, there were 2 persons required to be appraised in “Niedernlangebeck”; the number should have agreed with the farms or houses that existed at the time.

64 inhabitants live in Netherlandsbeck today. Netherlandsbeck belonged to Wormbach for a long time and came to the municipality of Cobbenrode in the Eslohe district in the 20th century , with which it was incorporated into the municipality of Eslohe on January 1, 1975 when the municipality was reorganized.

religion

Netherlandsbeck originally belonged to Wormbach church, but was spatially separated from the rest of Wormbach by the municipality of Berghausen . In 1924 a parish vicarie was set up as a branch of Eslohe. The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary was built in 1932/33. The chapels in Oberlandenbeck and Hengsbeck also belong to the community. The parish has 188 members.
