history

Goddart of Bonzel and John of Bonslo were, according to a Lehnsurkunde invested from the year 1513 with the hereditary Good Niedermarpe. On January 20, 1573, Archbishop Salentin enfeoffed a Hermann von Marpe called Pape with the estate of Niedermarpe ex nova gratia .

An appraisal register (used to raise taxes) from 1543 shows 3 taxable persons for the small town of “Niedern Marpe”; in addition to the aforementioned Herman Pape, Tonis Holber and Gorgen Dietmers.

In 1586 Johann von Neuhoff Herr zu Förde, Niedermarpe and Weuspert was mentioned in a document. Johann's daughter Theodora Guida inherited Niedermarpe in 1633 and later married Ernst Jobst von Schledorn . The marriage resulted in two sons and four daughters. Susanna Catharina became the heir and later married Johann Friedrich Bischopinck . On October 2, 1700, he was enfeoffed with the estate in Niedermarpe in the name of his wife Susanna Catharina.

Johann Adolf von Bischopinck, Johann Friedrich's eldest son, enfeoffed the Schledorn fief in Niedermarpe in 1724. He died childless in 1770. Therefore, in 1763, his nephew Ludwig von Bischopinck became feudal lord of the estate. In 1799 he did not transfer Niedermarpe to his son Mathias, but to his daughter Maria and her husband, which, however, was not recognized by the fief. Mathias von Bischopinck was therefore able to successfully regain Gut Niedermarpe by judicial means.

Since January 1, 1975, Niedermarpe has been part of the extended community of Eslohe.
