Frielinghausen is a district of Eslohe (Sauerland) in the North Rhine-Westphalian Hochsauerlandkreis .

The village is located at an altitude of around 310 m, around 1.5 km south of Bremke . The district with 110 inhabitants and 40 houses is located directly on the federal highway 511 . The Wenne flows through the village . The villages of Dorlar , Bremke and Lochtrop border Frielinghausen . The Wennebrücke in Frielinghausen was built in 1910.

Early clues about the size of the place can be found in an appraisal register (used to collect taxes) for the year 1543. According to this, there were 4 persons obliged to appraise in “Frylinghausen”; the number should have agreed with the farms or houses that existed at the time.

St Nicholas Chapel

The Nikolauskapelle in Frielinghausen was originally the private property of six Solstätter from the localities of Frielinghausen and Lochtrop. After many years of negotiations, the chapel was assigned to the Catholic parish Eslohe on September 27, 1887. When the chapel was built is unknown. A way of the cross from 1893 leads to the Fatima chapel on the Drüpel between Frielinghausen and Bremke.
