Beisinghausen is a district of the community Eslohe in the North Rhine-Westphalian Hochsauerlandkreis . At the end of 2019, the place had 106 inhabitants.

The village is located about 1 km southwest of Reiste in the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge Nature Park . Neighboring towns are Bremke , Landenbeck , Kirchilpe , Reiste and Twismecke .

history

Chapel of St. Margaretha

Beisinghausen, then "Bosinchhusen", was first mentioned in 1314. In “Boysinchusen” or “Bosinchusen” there were several hooves from the Meschede monastery .

Early clues about the size of the place can be found in an appraisal register (used to collect taxes) for the year 1543. According to this, there were 9 persons obliged to appraise in “Boesinckhaußen (Beisinghausen)”; the number should have agreed with the farms or houses that existed at the time. The place belonged to the independent municipality Reiste in the Eslohe office until the end of 1974 .

Since January 1, 1975, Beisinghausen has been part of the extended community of Eslohe. The listed chapel of St. Margaretha was entered on July 22, 1983 in the list of architectural monuments in Eslohe .
