Twismecke is a district of the town of Schmallenberg in North Rhine-Westphalia .
geography
location
Twismecke is around two kilometers north of Dorlar . A stream flows through it, which flows into the Ilpe south of the village . The Lumberg ( 559.2 m ) rises to the north-north-west and the Bracht ( 542.2 m ) to the north-north-east .
Neighborhoods
Neighboring villages are Dorlar, Beisinghausen , Kirchilpe and Nierentrop .
history
In 1844 Franz Beste and Wilhelm Nagel from Nierentrop received a building permit for their properties in the "Zwischenmecke". Five years later and around 1880 two more houses were built. In 1889, 41 residents lived in six houses. Further buildings were then erected.
Until the municipal reorganization in North Rhine-Westphalia, Twismecke belonged to the municipality of Dorlar . Since January 1, 1975, the place is a district of the city Schmallenberg.
religion
The small chapel was built in 1954 and consecrated on August 15, 1954 in honor of the Virgin Mary.
