Sonderhof is a district of the town of Schmallenberg in North Rhine-Westphalia .

geography

The Sonderhof consists of a single courtyard and is located on the northern slope of the Hunau on Kreisstraße 19 between Osterwald in the east and Rimberg in the west.

history

The Sonderhof was first mentioned in a document in 1338 and at that time belonged to Count Gottfried IV von Arnsberg. Later the Lords of Meschede zu Alme and after them the Counts of Bocholtz zu Alme owned the farm. The Droste family had been running the farm since the end of the 17th century at the latest.

Before 1541, two Osterwalder farms were separated from the once very large farm. The house that exists today was built in 1859 on the site of a previous building built in 1712. The first special courtyard was in a different place.

The Sonderhof, which belonged to the municipality of Bödefeld-Land until the municipal reorganization , was incorporated into the town of Schmallenberg on January 1, 1975.
