Rehsiepen is a district of the city of Schmallenberg in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The place is about eight kilometers east of Bad Fredeburg and one kilometer north of Heidberg (727 m). The Sorpe flows through Rehsiepen . The river has its source around one kilometer east of Rehsiepen.

history
Rehsiepen was first mentioned around 1600 as a field name in the statistics of the town of Oberkirchen . Around 1819 Rehsiepen consisted of two charcoal burners with twelve inhabitants. In 1895, 98 residents lived in Rehsiepen, according to the entry in the trade and business address book of the Province of Westphalia. The village belonged to the municipality of Oberkirchen until the municipal regional reform in North Rhine-Westphalia. Rehsiepen has been part of the extended town of Schmallenberg since January 1, 1975.

The listed old forester's house is worth seeing . In 2009 the property was incorporated into the non-profit foundation “Altes Forsthaus Rehsiepen”.
