Hiege is a district of the city of Schmallenberg in North Rhine-Westphalia .

geography

The Hiege consists of a single courtyard and is 1.7 east of Bödefeld and 0.5 km south of Lanfert , which is on the 740 state road that connects Bödefeld and Walbecke .

history

The Hiege was originally a free estate and did not belong to the Liberty Bödefeld, but to the Fredeburger Land . The estate was administered by a Bödefeld tenant from Bödefeld from the 16th century at the latest and at that time probably no longer had its own buildings. In 1865 the farm was moved from Bödefeld to the Hiege, which now belonged to the municipality of Bödefeld-Freiheit, and the old Solstätte in Bödefeld was sold. On January 1, 1975, the Hiege was incorporated into the town of Schmallenberg with the municipality of Bödefeld-Freiheit.
