Kückelheim is a district of the city of Schmallenberg in North Rhine-Westphalia .
geography
The village is located about 7 km northwest of Schmallenberg at an altitude of 390 m above sea level. The Mühlenbach flows through the village and leads the K 35.
Adjacent places are Arpe , Bracht , Selkentrop and Werntrop . Around Kückelheim, the Restoffenland landscape protection area lies to the west and east of Kückelheim , further to the south and northeast, the Mühlenbach landscape protection area from north Werntrop to Arpe, and to the north the grassland complexes south of Arpe .
History and religion
Documents from the 14th and 15th centuries have been preserved from the uppermost court or old court in Kückelheim. It was partly leased by the Grafschaft monastery and partly hereditary property. The farm owned half of the Kaltenhof, which was south of the Werntrop mill.
Until the municipal reorganization in North Rhine-Westphalia, Kückelheim belonged to the municipality of Berghausen . Since January 1, 1975, Kückelheim has been part of the town of Schmallenberg.
The Chapel of St. John the Baptist was built in the 17th century.
