Herschede is a district of the city of Schmallenberg in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The hamlet is about 8 km northwest of Schmallenberg. Adjacent places are Bracht , Silberg and Oberlandenbeck .

In 1782 the Blöink family came from Landenbeck to the Herschede family. Until the municipal reorganization in North Rhine-Westphalia, Herschede belonged to the municipality of Berghausen . The hamlet has been part of the town of Schmallenberg since January 1st, 1975.
