Keppel is a district of the city of Schmallenberg in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The district is located around seven kilometers northwest of Schmallenberg. Neighboring places are Silberg , Landenbeckerbruch , Arpe and Oberlandenbeck . The Hardtsiepen stream rises around 200 meters north of Keppel.
The Schauerte family farm was built in the late 1890s. Until the municipal reorganization in North Rhine-Westphalia, Keppel belonged to the municipality of Berghausen . Since January 1st, 1975 the homestead has been part of the town of Schmallenberg.
