The list of natural monuments in Schmallenberg includes natural monuments of the North Rhine-Westphalian city ​​of Schmallenberg . They are kept by the Lower Landscape Authority of the Hochsauerlandkreis .

Natural monuments

The listed natural monuments are individual creations of nature. Protection is based on the rarity, peculiarity or beauty of the natural monument and its value for science, geography and regional studies. They are either natural small biotopes typical of the natural area and of particular unusualness and beauty, or distinctive and dominant individual elements with an outstanding landscape-enhancing effect. The protection of natural monuments is anchored in Section 28 of the Federal Nature Conservation Act and in the state nature conservation laws. The removal of a natural monument and all actions that could lead to the destruction, damage or alteration of the natural monument are prohibited.
