Föckinghausen is a district of the North Rhine-Westphalian town of Schmallenberg in Germany .

The small town is around five kilometers north of Bad Fredeburg . Neighboring places are Oberrarbach , Hanxleden and Dornheim .

There is a small chapel in the village. In the center of the village the Hesmeckebach flows into the Rarbach .

history

Early clues about the size of the place can be found in an appraisal register for the year 1543. According to this, there were two appraisers in “Fockinckhaußen”; the number should have agreed with the farms or houses that existed at the time. Föckinghausen belonged to the municipality of Rarbach until the municipal reform of the municipality .

On January 1, 1975 the place became a district of the new town Schmallenberg.
