The Ilpe is an 8.3 km long right tributary of the Wenne in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany . The brook flows in the west of the Hochsauerlandkreis through Schmallenberg and Eslohe .

geography

The Ilpe rises about 1.6 km southeast of Altenilpe at an altitude of 511  m above sea level. NHN . It flows primarily in north-westerly directions. The places Altenilpe, Nierentrop and Twismecke are flown through. Between Frielinghausen and Bremke the Ilpe flows out at 301  m above sea level. NHN on the right in the Wenne.

On its 8.3 km long path, the Ilpe experiences a difference in altitude of 210 m, which corresponds to an average bed gradient of 25.3 ‰. It drains a 12.571 km² catchment area via Wenne, Ruhr and Rhine to the North Sea .

The source and the watercourse of the Ilpe in the Schmallenberg urban area are located in the landscape protection area section of the Ilpe with Kleiner Ilpe, Hengsiepen and Hallebach from the source to the border of the municipality of Eslohe with adjoining lean grassland near Nierentrop .
