Sieperting is a village in the municipality of Eslohe (Sauerland) in the Hochsauerlandkreis .

The place is about 315 m above sea level on the edge of the Homert in the Salwey valley between Eslohe and Niedersalwey . It consists of several parts: Am Hammer, Am Hahn and In der Marpe and has 30 houses. The population has decreased in recent years from 140 to 69 people due to emigration.

The village has existed for about 600 years. Early clues about the size of the place can be found in an appraisal register (used to collect taxes) for the year 1543. According to this, there were 5 subject to appraisal in “Syberdinck” (Johanis Styßperth, HanßLinnenbuel, Hanß Becker, Johann Buelman and Cordt Pattberg); this number should have agreed with the courtyards or houses existing at that time. Although the place is still dominated by agriculture, it is also the production site of the Kettenwulf company .

In 2009, the “center of South Westphalia ” was marked with a boulder in Sieperting . This center was determined by the Südwestfalenagentur as the focus of the area of the five south Westphalian districts Hochsauerlandkreis , Märkischer Kreis , Kreis Olpe , Kreis Siegen-Wittgenstein and Kreis Soest .
