Nichtinghausen is a district of the community Eslohe in the North Rhine-Westphalian Hochsauerlandkreis . In 2016 the place had 47 inhabitants.

geography

The village is located about 2.5 km northeast of Reiste in the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge Nature Park . Neighboring towns are Büenfeld , Erflinghausen , Herhagen and Reiste. The federal road 55 runs through the village . The Dormecke flows into the hen in the village .

history

St. Bernard Chapel

In the 14th century, the Hufe in Nichtinghausen, at that time "Nyttenhusen" or "Nihtenhusen", with the Fronhöfen belonged to the inventory of the Meschede Monastery . Early clues about the size of the place result from an appraisal register (this was used to collect taxes) for the year 1543. According to this, there were four appraisers in “Nichtenhaußen”; the number should have agreed with the farms or houses that existed at the time. The place belonged to the independent municipality Reiste in the Eslohe office until the end of 1974 .

Since January 1, 1975, Nichtinghausen has been part of the extended community of Eslohe. The listed St. Bernhard chapel was entered on December 11, 1985 in the list of architectural monuments in Eslohe .
