The village is located about 4 km west of Cobbenrode in the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge nature park . The highest point is the Hülsenberg north of Obermarpe with a height of 573 m. Neighboring towns are Cobbenrode, Schwartmecke , Dormecke , Obervalbert and Niedermarpe . The Marpe rises southwest of Obermarpe at an altitude of 497 m above sea level.
