Büemke is a district of the community Eslohe in the North Rhine-Westphalian Hochsauerlandkreis . In mid-2016 the place had 57 inhabitants.

geography

The village is located about 1.5 km northwest of Reiste in the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge nature park . Neighboring towns are Büenfeld , Reiste, Beisinghausen , Bremke and Wenholthausen . The district road 40 leads through the village. The Büemker Bach rises within the local area. The Büemker Bach and Nebensiepen nature reserve is 32.1 hectares in size between Wenholthausen and Büemke.

history

In the 14th century a hoof in Büemke, at that time "Boydenbeke", belonged to the inventory of the Meschede Monastery . Early clues about the size of the place emerge from an appraisal register (this was used to collect taxes) for the year 1543. According to this, there were ten appraisers in “Bremicke”; the number should have agreed with the farms or houses that existed at the time. The place belonged to the independent municipality Reiste in the Eslohe office until the end of 1974 .

Büemke has been part of the extended community of Eslohe since January 1, 1975. The listed St. Agatha Chapel was entered into the list of architectural monuments in Eslohe on October 23, 1985 .
