history

On October 1st, 1925, the brothers Josef and Johannes Wulf founded a link chain manufacture in Kückelheim near Eslohe . In the 1930s the company was transformed into a general trading company with the company name "Joint chain factory Jos. Und Joh. Wulf Kückelheim ü. / Meschede". In the 1950s, the company specialized in the manufacture of bush conveyor chains. The number of employees rose to 20. In the 1960s, the production of sprockets began. The number of employees was now 110.

In the following decade, the field of activity expanded and the company entered the escalator industry. Günter Wulf, son of Erich Wulf, joined the management. The number of employees rose further to 180. In the 1980s, the production facilities were expanded and the administration expanded. The internationalization of the company began with the establishment of the first branch in Belgium . In 1990, the KettenWulf GmbH Division Ferlacher Förderketten in Austria and the establishment of the sales branch in Zielona Góra in Poland were added. Laser production was introduced in 1992 . In 2003 Julia Wulf joined the management of the KettenWulf Group. A year later, the group expanded with the establishment of Wulf Chain USA, LP and DC AFAM USA, LP , based in Austell in the United States . In 2005, Hangzhou Wulf Chain Co., Ltd. 100% in the KettenWulf Group.

Company profile

The KettenWulf Group is now spread over ten production and sales locations and exports to almost all countries in the world. The most important locations are Gent in Belgium, as the European central warehouse, Oyten in Northern Germany for export, Ferlach in Austria for production and last but not least, Hangzhou Wulf Chain in China is of steadily increasing importance for the production of standard chains and the development of the growing Chinese market. The headquarters of the entire KettenWulf Group is and will continue to be in Kückelheim in Germany. The company will continue to be run by the Wulf family. The escalator, bulk goods, automotive and steel industries make up the core business. In these areas, KettenWulf works with leading plant manufacturers and original equipment manufacturers. Since the chains are sometimes exposed to extreme external conditions and environmental influences, they are subjected to various endurance and maximum load tests in our in-house laboratory, as well as being tested for extreme temperature and media environments.
