Old forge Absam

The Alte Schmiede Absam is located on Karl-Zanger-Straße in the municipality of Absam in the Innsbruck-Land district in Tyrol . The current house is a listed building .

history

The building as a former forge is in line with former mills with gable facades on the valley side.

architecture

The narrow, single-axis façade on the valley side closes off a long building on a hillside. The half- hip roof encloses a balcony to a small covered patio. The facade is richly painted and shows Christophorus, Florian, Mariahilf and a coat of arms with the year 1740 in baroque medallions. The mighty chimney is structured with three cornices and a saddle roof.
