The Altea-Eko is a small unmanned aircraft manufactured by the Spanish aviation company Flightech Systems Europe SA, founded in 2006 and based in Madrid .

history

After more than seven years of development, the Altea-Eko drone received temporary approval from the Spanish aviation authority AESA at the end of 2013. Flightech Systems had the official license to operate day and night in Spanish airspace under the Spanish license plate EC-LYG. The certification flights took place at the Aeródromo de Almansa airfield . The development costs are mentioned at nine million euros. The fuselage and wings were developed in cooperation with the company Aernnova Aerospace and made from composite materials that Aernnova also uses for the construction of parts of the Airbus models.

Applications

The intended areas of application of Altea-Eko are the prevention and early detection of forest fires as well as the monitoring of infrastructures such as industrial areas, oil production facilities, pipelines and agricultural areas.
