The old cemetery Bordesholm is a listed ensemble of tombs up to 1870 in Bordesholm .

The cemetery

The site is north of the monastery church on Lindenplatz in the historic center of Bordesholm. Initially used as the final resting place of monastery servants and the poor, in 1737 it became the cemetery for all the dead in the parish. In 1868 it was closed for further burials and today's cemetery in Kirchhofsallee was laid out.

There are currently 16 individual grave sites to be identified. These include grave monuments of cultural and historical interest, e.g. B. for Nicolaus Friedrich Johannsen (teacher, sexton and organist, first secretary of the Bordesholmer Sparkasse founded in 1845 ) and the chief fireman Johann Clairmont (involved in the sea battle near Eckernförde ).
