The old cemetery of Neuilly-sur-Seine (French: Cimetière ancien de Neuilly ) in the Hauts-de-Seine department is located on "Rue Victor-Noir". The relatively small cemetery is famous for its graves with sculptures, busts and medallions from the 19th century.
history
The cemetery was opened in 1803. It is called the "old cemetery" because it had to be replaced by a larger one. In 1884, the affluent but small-area Parisian suburb of Neuilly-sur-Seine acquired an area in the neighboring municipality of Puteaux , which was later expanded beyond its municipality to Nanterre . In these two parishes is the new Neuilly cemetery ( Cimetière nouveau de Neuilly ). The old cemetery was officially abandoned on November 7, 1919. However, burials continue to take place there. However, a family vault is a prerequisite for this.
