The old lighthouse of Kyrenia ( Girne ) on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus is located in the old city harbor, which is now only used by yachts and smaller boats. It was created with the construction of the western pier between 1886 and 1891 and marked its end. With the extension of the pier, the lighthouse lost its function and was shut down in 1963.
The round, conically tapering tower is made of natural stone and is not plastered. He used to carry a red lantern .
