The Old Rectory Inveraray is a building close to the shores of Loch Fyne in the Scottish town of Inveraray , which is located opposite the pier. It was once available to the clergy of the nearby Inveraray Parish Church . A shop called The Pier Shop is now located on the ground floor. Apartments are set up on the upper floors.

The building was completed in 1776 and is one of the early structures in the core of the planned town of Inveraray. The original plans by the architect Robert Mylne for this street are in the possession of the Dukes of Argyll . In 1966 the old rectory was included in the Scottish List of Monuments in the highest category A.

description

The two-story old rectory has typical features of Georgian architecture . The entrance door, which is recessed in the middle and has a decorative arch, is surrounded by two shop windows, which do not correspond to the original state of the building and were installed in the course of setting up the shop. Muntin windows are installed on the upper floor. The building ends with a slate-covered gable roof . Two dormers with hipped roofs illuminate the living rooms in the attic on both sides . All facades are plastered using the traditional Harling technique.
