Anuar Battisti

Anuar Battisti (born February 19, 1953 in Lajeado ) is a Brazilian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Maringá .

Life

The Bishop of Toledo , Geraldo Majella Agnelo , ordained him on December 8, 1980 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Toledo on April 15, 1998. The secretary of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Order of the Sacraments , Archbishop Geraldo Majella Agnelo, donated him episcopal ordination on June 20 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Cascavel , Lúcio Ignácio Baumgaertner , and his predecessor Armando Círio OSI . As a motto he chose CAMINHAI NO SENHOR .

He was appointed Archbishop of Maringá on September 29, 2004 and was introduced to the office on November 24 of the same year.

Pope Francis accepted his early resignation on November 20, 2019.
