history

The two-storey, eaves-standing building was previously on the site of the later Gasthaus Adler (Hochdorfer Straße 2) and was rebuilt in 1816 at a different location, in 1855 at the current location at Rutesheimer Straße 3. An inscribed date refers to the year 1816. The building has a bell-shaped roof turret on the gable roof .

Until 1968, the historic building served as a town hall and fire fighting equipment store. After the municipal administration moved to the former schoolhouse in Hindenburgstrasse, it was made available to the Liederkranz choral society in 1976 as a clubhouse (singer's home). There is a restaurant on the upper floor.
