Old seminar in 2005

The old seminar is a seminar building built in 1910 in Wipperfürth . Today the council chamber of the city council is located in the building because the corresponding hall in the town hall had become too small. Furthermore, here the music school administration that is city library and the combing Office housed together with the city treasury. In the left wing there are private apartments and the right wing has been renovated into a gymnastics hall.

The Wipperfürth Castle is also popularly spoken of.

history

The building was built in 1910 and 1911 and used as a teachers' college. Until 1973, the Engelbert-von-Berg-Gymnasium Wipperfürth was located in the building . The rear wing of the building was torn down and a modern high school building was built behind the old seminary.

In 1974 the old seminar became the property of the city of Wipperfürth. The building was supposed to be demolished at the time, but thanks to the great efforts of a private person, it was possible to put the building under monument protection. Today the seminar is completely renovated.
